Experience Myakka's Magic and Dark Sky during our
astronomy night at Myakka River State Park!
Join the Friends of Myakka River from 6:30 to 9 PM on Saturday, March 7th for an evening exploration of the night sky at Myakka River State Park when we partner with the Suncoast Stargazers for a magical evening of observing the heavens.
Our astronomy experts will provide event participants with the opportunity to view planets, galaxies, and star clusters using state-of-the-art telescopes. The dark skies of the park should make for nearly ideal observing conditions.

With inventive vocal harmonies and song-writing, Passerine offers a genre-bending take on traditional folk and bluegrass, as well as a repertoire of original songs that range from sweet ballads to the edgier side of contemporary Americana.

A variety of food and drink options will be available throughout the evening from local vendors and our volunteers.
Killik’s Kitchen will be on site serving up a selection of freshly prepared food.
The Daily Paleta will also be stopping by with their handcrafted popsicles — a refreshing treat perfect for a Florida evening.
The Lazy Gator will be offering beer and wine. Our wonderful volunteers will also have hot cocoa, coffee, and brownies available for $1 each, with proceeds supporting Friends of Myakka River.
All proceeds from this fundraiser directly benefit Myakka River State Park and the Wild and Scenic Myakka River.
