Friends of Myakka River |

JOIN US ON APRIL 15-16, NOON TO NOON, AND BE THE ONE TO SHARE MYAKKA'S MAGIC!
For 24 hours, you’ll have the power to make a lasting difference.
During the 2026 Giving Challenge (April 15–16, noon to noon), your support of Friends of Myakka River will help protect one of Florida’s most extraordinary natural treasures—Myakka River State Park and the Wild and Scenic Myakka River.
Friends of Myakka River is proud to be part of this powerful day of giving, and we invite you to be part of it too.
The Patterson Foundation will strengthen giving during the 2026 Giving Challenge with a 1:1 match on all unique donations between $25 and $100 per donor, per nonprofit organization — with no cap on the number of individual matches from unique donors a nonprofit organization can receive.
🌿 Environmental education for local students
We help bring students—many visiting for the first time—to the park for hands-on learning experiences, covering costs like transportation and equipment.
🦋 Habitat restoration and wildlife protection
From replanting native species to caring for sensitive areas after major restoration work, we help keep Myakka’s ecosystems healthy and resilient.
🤝 Support for the park’s volunteer program
We equip the volunteers who maintain the park, support visitors, and carry out critical conservation and education efforts.
