  Junior  Ranger  Jamboree  2026

  Join us at Myakka’s beautiful South Pavilion for a fun-filled, family-friendly day of outdoor adventure and nature discovery! This exciting event is perfect for kids of all ages and offers a variety of FREE* activities designed to spark curiosity and connection with the natural world.

  Throughout the day, young explorers can:

  • Visit interactive Junior Ranger stations led by park rangers
  • Take part in hands-on activities and collect stamps in a Junior Ranger passport
  • Discover local wildlife, ecosystems, and essential outdoor skills
  • Work toward earning an official Junior Ranger badge

  In addition to the stations, families can enjoy games, a cozy reading area, and lively music from a DJ sponsored by Friends of Myakka River—plus plenty of other engaging activities happening all around!

  No registration is required—come and go as you please. Both self-guided and ranger-led experiences will be available throughout the event.

  Experience Myakka's Magic and Dark Sky during our

  astronomy night at Myakka River State Park!   

  
  

  Join the Friends of Myakka River from 6:30 to 9 PM on Saturday, November 7th for an evening exploration of the night sky at Myakka River State Park when we partner with the Suncoast Stargazers for a magical evening of observing the heavens.

  Our astronomy experts will provide event participants with the opportunity to view planets, galaxies, and star clusters using state-of-the-art telescopes.  The dark skies of the park should make for nearly ideal observing conditions. 

  Tickets: $15 per person, $10 for Friends of Myakka River Members

  Children 6-12 $5

  MEMBERS MAY BUY MULTIPLE DISCOUNTED TICKETS, AS OUTLINED IN OUR MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS:

  • Park entrance fee waived after 5:30pm with event ticket
  • Park gate will close at 6:30pm for entrance to the event
