2nd Annual Myakka River Half Marathon

The 2nd Annual Myakka River Half Marathon / 5K Run for the Memories

The Inaugural Myakka River Half Marathon / 5K, was run in the beautiful Myakka River State Park in Sarasota, Florida on November 21, 2015. It was a tremendous success. The 2nd annual “Run for the Memories” will be even more amazing.

It will be run on Saturday November 12, 2016.   The race is being hosted by Tracy and Kim Hussey’s foundation, Florida Compassion Foundation. The FCF helps the families of alzheimer’s patients with expenses not covered by insurance and helps with funding to find a cure. Working closely with the Florida Gulf Coast Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, they team up to show compassion when it seems there is no hope. Your entry or donation to this race will really make a difference for a family in need.

florida-compassion-foundation.jpg

This race will benefit Florida Compassion Foundation.

The FCF is very passionate about helping the families of people fighting this atrocious disease. On April 1, 2015 Kimberly Hussey, co-Race Director, lost her mother to Alzheimer’s. She was only 68 years old.

With your entry fee or donation you will be helping these families and helping to fund the research to find a cure. The Alzheimer’s Association truly feels that they are within 10 years of finding a cure. Run this race in memory of someone you love that is fighting this disease now or a loved one who has already lost their battle to Alzheimer. Once again, we are hosting the event in loving memory of Kim’s mom, Charlene Corniel.
